Overview

The DSM is a progressive, creative thinker who can conceptualize, execute, and close revenue producing ideas that connect our advertiser’s goals to our digital properties. These properties include, but are not limited to, the station websites, apps, social media, off-site partners, and agency services.  

 

This position is an integral part of the sales management team, and works in tandem with the Local Sales Manager and National Sales Manager in digital revenue development for the overall operation. This position reports directly to the General Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

 

  • Drive digital revenue growth for the station and company - grow digital market share and create new digital business.
  • Work in tandem with the Local, National, and General Sales Manager in revenue strategy, training, and overall multi -media revenue production.
  • Oversight of all digital sales products, inventory management and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to forecast revenue, develop and sustain a business plan to exceed the digital sales budget
  • Work at a partnership/consultative level as an expert in digital advertising with account executives, agencies, and advertisers.
  • Management of the digital sales pipeline, including regional and national agency business and 3rd party revenue.
  • Coach and deliver sales presentations in tandem with account executives.
  • Create strong business relationships, develop a sense of team with the Account Executives, and assist with targeting, building, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Brainstorm with sales people for creative marketing promotions that leverage the digital and broadcast assets.
  • Develop and deliver best practices for digital knowledge among the sales department and clients.
  • Partner with News and Creative Services to support the overall growth of our digital audiences through internal strategic objectives.
  • Work with the corporate digital team on corporate led sales initiatives, 3rd party revenue channels, and group sales projects.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to support digital initiatives including ad operations, creative, agency services, analytics, audience extension, lead generation, search, and others.
  • Reporting and other support functions of DIgital.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in multi-platform or digital sales with sales management experience preferred
  • Experience leading/managing a sales team (5-10 people)
  • Record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • Presentation experience and expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Experience with digital advertising analytics, campaign management tools, ad tags, etc.
  • Strong overall computer skills including proficiency in PowerPoint, screen sharing, Excel, social media, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to promote a winning, positive culture, and to be a team player
  • College degree preferred
