KSTU FOX 13 has an opening for a Television Media Coordinator to join our team of broadcast professionals. Experience with broadcast automation systems and strong computer skills or IT experience. Must have desire to learn, train and lead with excellence. Must be able to work under deadlines and have the ability to multi-task. Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to solve problems.


  • Comprehend and use Brutus Automation with proficiency. Learn and be able to use your knowledge of the Brutus Automation system to keep all stations running without errors. Self-Study to learn the Brutus system to become more proficient.
  • Be a Master Control Operator when needed and have the ability and skills to run any station inside the SOC Operations.
  • Verify all shows, commercials and all other materials are ready for air on all stations; researches and contacts appropriate sources for missing material
  • Utilize knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations governing television broadcasters including EAS requirements, logging closed captioning and compliance with the FCC Children’s Television Act to ensure stations remain compliant
  • Effectively communicate with other departments regarding on-air and operational situations
  • Be able to train Master Control Operators in all functions of the Brutus automation system. Answer all questions and lead the Master Control Operators.
  • Be a support for the SOC Operations Manager. Be available for all shifts including days, swings, overnights, holidays, weekends, on call shifts and emergency situations.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • College degree in Telecommunications preferred; high school diploma plus equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years in Master Control preferred, experience in a master control HUB desired
  • Working knowledge of satellite spot delivery systems and Brutus Transcoding preferred
  • Must be capable of using IT-based equipment in a broadcast environment
  • Must be able to work under deadlines and have the ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to solve problems
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, weekends, ON CALL shifts
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
