KSWB/FOX5 is looking for an AM News Producer who will be responsible for stacking and running the show from the control room.
Responsibilities include: writing news stories, directing the editing of video, editing video, managing anchors/reporters and using social media to engage and inform viewers. Stays informed on current affairs. Familiarity with social media. Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure. Will need to assist reporters by proofreading scripts and be responsible for shaping overall coverage in your newscast. Requires the capability of interacting positively and productively with others. Producer will be a leader in the newsroom. Must work early morning hours and may be required to produce cut-ins, special reports, or breaking news.
Effective story and tease writing, good organizational and communication skills a must. College degree or equivalent related experience preferred. Candidate will have at least 1-3 years experience in broadcast journalism. Prior producing experience required. Experience with Final Cut X/nonlinear editing a plus. Working familiarity with Electronic News Gathering (ENG).
