    Reports to: Director, Digital Local Sales

    Reporting to the Director - Digital Local Sales, this leadership role is responsible for driving Tribune Broadcastings’ local digital revenue at the operating unit (station) level. This individual will consult, coach and advise a defined list of Tribune Broadcast properties on best practice strategies and techniques for the continuous growth of their local digital advertising business.  Success is measured by this individuals ability to work with internal and external team members to exceed local digital revenue goals, along with other performance standards like market share, product sell through rates, and advertiser satisfaction. 


    • Effectively lead, coach and grow local sales teams at approximately 12 Tribune markets in achievement of their local digital revenue budget.
    • Inform and positively influence stakeholders ranging from new sales representatives to experienced media executives including sales managers, controllers and general managers.
    • Present and ensure adoption of Tribune digital sales strategies, products and 3rd party partnerships. Share best practices and help create a positive digital sales culture.
    • Provide Director - Digital Local Sales and corporate stakeholders revenue forecasts and color on a consistent basis through trip reports and continuous feedback.
    • Actively monitor digital KPIs at assigned markets and take action against information.
    • Evaluate and develop Digital Sales Managers at assigned markets. Provide timely coaching and candid feedback to the DSM, pulling in GMs and DOSs as needed.
    • Working with station leadership help recruit and vet potential DSM hires.
    • Provide ongoing digital training, coaching and development of the larger local sales team(s).
    • Hold sales and retention meetings with local digital advertisers and prospects
    • Analyze station digital metrics including advertisers, churn, market share, sales structure and goals, and any other areas we can leverage or improve to grow digital revenue.
    • Develop a market visit agenda template and post-visit trip reports, providing them in a timely manner to stakeholders.
    • During budget season help apply rigor to the digital financial planning process at each station.
    • Actively travel to assigned Tribune markets on a consistent basis, 50% travel expectation.
    • Work across US time zones.


    • Proven track record of success in previous sales leadership roles, prefer experience in leading sales managers
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to make impactful sales presentations
    • Ability to create and foster a positive working environment with the company through a winning attitude, strong leadership and team building skills.
    • Analyze issues thoroughly to make sound business decisions and solve problems effectively.
    • 6-10+ years of sales in digital media, channel sales, and/or sales management
    • BS/BA degree or higher.
    • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation and have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
