    Tribune Media is seeking a Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst to support its Television & Entertainment (TV&E) business, with a primary focus on the Broadcasting segment. The Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, which provides budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis support to Broadcasting leadership and Tribune’s 42 television stations, including over 150 associated digital properties.


    In addition to the standard FP&A responsibilities described above, the Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst will be charged with helping to assess the team’s existing tools and business processes, making recommendations for improvement, and working directly with a range of stakeholders including our Business Intelligence (BI) team and distributed Finance organization to execute on selected improvements.


    We are seeking someone with a strong work ethic, a high level of intellectual curiosity, and the ability and desire to become an expert in finance and analytics within the media space. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or another quantitative field and 2-3 years’ experience in corporate finance, management consulting, investment banking, or a similar quantitative function. As this position has significant exposure to senior leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, are a must. Previous exposure to IT departments, BI tools (e.g. Tableau), advanced analytical tools (e.g. relational databases/SQL, VB for Applications, etc.), and Financial Planning/ERP systems (e.g. Anaplan, Workday) is a plus.


    • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards of financial results, key performance indicators, and external benchmarks to support the Broadcasting executive team
    • Support monthly close and forecast process and annual budget process for the Broadcasting group by independently analyzing financials and working with leadership to explain, review, and finalize projections
    • Prepare ad hoc financial models and communicate results and recommendations to senior management, investor relations, corporate development, and other stakeholders
    • Leverage systems to automate the compilation and distribution of financial results
    • Continually assess tools and processes, recommend improvements, and work with stakeholders to execute
    • Develop a thorough understanding of Tribune Broadcasting operations in support of responsibilities


    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative field, with strong academic track record
    • 2-3 years in a corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, or similar quantitative role
    • Strong work ethic and high level of intellectual curiosity, with interest in media, finance, and analytics
    • Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to organize and balance multiple competing priorities at any given time
    • High level of proficiency in Excel is required
    • Experience with IT, BI tools, advanced analytical tools (e.g. SQL, VBA), and Planning/ERP systems is a plus
    • Must be willing to submit to a background check
    • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
