    The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing all sales activity through our national sales organization (representative firm).  The right individual for this position will possess strong leadership, communication and execution skills.  The NSM partners closely with internal colleagues in local sales, digital sales, finance and technology, as well as external colleagues at our national sales organization, CoxReps. 


    • Enthusiastically accountable for meeting National targeted financial budget and market share goals.
    • Actively drives, leads, negotiates and monitors national sales activity and performance on daily basis
    • Directs and determines rates to be charged using station’s commercial rate card, packages available airtime, guides the national sellers in negotiation strategies
    • Monitors performance of national representative firms through on-going evaluation of various areas including billing growth, share increase, success at selling sports, specials, pre- and post-sell efforts, attention to buyer’s and station’s needs and provides direction and guidance in developing sales goals and strategies to effectively meet these goals
    • Assists our rep firm in preparing sales presentations of major sports events and specials by gathering data from various station sources and overseeing preparation and presentation
    • Accurately forecasts national revenue from knowledge of market conditions and reports provided by internal and external monitoring sources
    • Develops and maintains direct relationships with demand side partner agencies and clients at all levels to promote station’s image and revenue share
    • Supervises national account coordinator ensuring high performance including response times and accuracy
    • Travel on a regular basis for work and represent WREG at sales related functions

    The most qualified candidate will also possess:
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent related experience.
    • 5+ years work experience within a broadcast television station
    • Sales leadership experience in a top 50 market preferred
    • A track record of successfully generating revenue for the company and advertisers
    • Excellent analytic skills and advanced knowledge of television sales softward systems and processes
    • Ability to develop and communicate effective and persuasive sales related presentations; as well as coach/guide others in growing their abilities
